During IFP Film Week, The Blackhouse spearheaded a Producer’s Roundtable featuring film producers Lisa Cortes and Re’Shaun Frear.
During TIFF, the organization hosted a Conversation with Sam Pollard – Director, “Sammy Davis, Jr.: I’ve Gotta Be Me” and a Canadian Filmmaker Panel featuring Alison Duke, Jennifer Holness, Dean Bernard, and Ngardy Conteh George.
During AFI, the organization hosted a Conversation with one of the industry’s most sought after writer/director’s, Jordan Peele, in Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.”
Other activations this year included an intimate, off-the-record conversation with the talented, multi-hypenate, Issa Rae, hosted by Elvis Mitchell and a panel discussion with visual storytellers of various mediums discussing how they use their art to bring light to social issues. Panelists included:

- and Terence Nance (Swimming in Your Skin Again, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty)
